Lance Mok is a Hong Kong-born pianist-composer based in London. His versatile career as a concert pianist, chamber musician, and repetiteur has brought him around the world from the UK and Hong Kong to the Netherlands, Finland, Poland, Korea, Taiwan, Macau, and the US. His performances have been broadcast by Bloomsbury Radio, Radio Television Hong Kong, and Television Broadcast Ltd. (HK), and have been used in films and documentaries. He is a founding member of wind-and-piano Ensemble Fioritura and a keen advocate of contemporary music.
As a composer, his music has been performed in such venues and occasions as St John’s, Smith Square (London), O. Festival (Rotterdam), and French May Arts Festival (HK), amongst others. Some main sources of inspiration include diaspora experiences, Buddhist philosophy, classical literature, and issues on gender identity, the latter two forming the basis of his upcoming project Silhouettes of Passion’s Master-mistress to be on tour in the UK.
Lance is a master’s graduate in Piano Performance from the Royal College of Music. His passion in promoting music also led to his appointment as an examiner of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music since 2023 and as a Live Music Now musician since 2024.
